Abstract: This project aims to exploit in the field of materials processing the evolution in magnet technology whereby magnets with a stronger field and larger size become available at an affordable price. For this project processes have been selected which were estimated to be of strategic value by the research providing organisations, but also by the industries involved in material processing in Flanders. The selected processes involve: a) the removal of fine inclusions from a liquid metal and b) the texturing of functional ceramics to enhance their properties.
